I would like to know about Health insurance & vehicle insurance in Kerala

Assalamu Alaikum, i would like to know about the fatwa regarding about the Current scenario condition of kerala and expense the health insurance and full cover vehicle insurance are permissible or not

Health Insurance

Nowadays, many individuals are compelled to obtain health insurance due to medical concerns, as securing quality healthcare often demands substantial financial resources. Furthermore, many corporate employers mandate health coverage as a condition of employment. Under such necessity, securing health insurance is permissible.

If an individual wishes to enroll in health insurance under ordinary circumstances, it is permissible provided the agreement includes a benefit offered by the company such as a comprehensive health checkup once a year or every three years.

Vehicle full cover Insurance

Under current regulations, acquiring full coverage insurance for the first year in addition to the third party insurance cover is mandatory when purchasing a new vehicle. Given this statutory requirement, taking full coverage insurance on a new vehicle is permissible.

If one does not intend to maintain the policy, the initial premium paid would be forfeited. Therefore, continuing payments to recover one's out of pocket funds is permissible. In the event of a insurance claim payout, one may only retain and utilize the exact total amount paid in premiums; any surplus funds must be disbursed as charity (Sadaqah) without expecting any spiritual reward. there is no problem if a person decides to pay the excess claim amount as future insurance premiums to the same company insted of charity and thereby repaying the remaining amount to the insurance company itself.
