Is yoga allowed as an exercise, to keep fit?

Answer:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الجواب وبالله التوفيق والنجاح

Islam is a religion suitable for humanity. Hence, sports and exercises are allowed in Islam.  It is reported that prophet Muhammad (S.A) and his beloved wife Ayisha conducted racing with each other. He also encouraged Ayisha (R.A) to take part in archery and horse riding.

Being fit physically and various forms of sports are encouraged in Islam.

But yoga, is not just an exercise. It has words and actions which are considered in islam as shirk and kufr.
Moreover, it has been stated as a form of worship in the holy books of non-muslims. Yoga is a part of worship.
Hence, In Islam, practicing yoga is not permissible.
